Woman Killed, 2 Hurt In West Garfield Park Crash

(STMW) --A woman was killed and two other people were injured in a single-vehicle crash in the West Garfield Park neighborhood early Saturday.

Two women and a man were in a gray sedan traveling eastbound in the 4400 block of West Harrison about 4:35 a.m. when the driver, a woman in her 20s, lost control of the car and hit a building, police said.

The driver, 23-year-old Brianna Lindsey, and a 22-year-old woman were both taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said. Lindsey, who lived in the 500 block of North Pine, was pronounced dead at 9:24 a.m.

Another passenger, a 25-year-old man, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
