17-Year-Old Boy Fatally Struck By Car In West Englewood

(STMW) -- A 17-year-old boy died Saturday, one day after he was struck by a car after getting off a CTA bus in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Jamel Robinson got off a CTA bus about 5:25 p.m. Friday in the 2100 block of West 69thStreet and darted in front of the eastbound bus he had just exited, then was struck by a Mazda 3 that was also heading eastbound on 69th, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Robinson, of the 2000 block of West 68thPlace, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 2:31 p.m. Saturday, according to the medical examiner's office.

No charges or citations have been issued. The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
