Police Warn Logan Square Businesses Of Robberies

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning businesses on the Northwest Side about two recent robberies in Logan Square.

In each robbery, one or two suspects went into the business, approached the counter with an item to purchase, then demanded and took money from the register, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. In one instance, the robber implied that he had a gun.

The robberies happened at 12:55 p.m. Jan. 17 in the 3800 block of West North Avenue; and at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 22 in the 3900 block of West Fullerton Avenue.

In one robbery, one suspect is described as a 30- to 35-year-old black man, standing between 6-feet-2 and 6-feet-3, and weighing 180 pounds, police said. He wore a black North Face sweatshirt, black jeans, and black boots.

There were two suspects in the other case, both described as black men, police said. One suspect in that robbery was described as 30-35 years old, standing 6-feet, weighing 180 pounds, and wearing a gray knit hat, gray jacket, and jeans.
