This Is Insane -- Even The 10th-Place Carolina Hurricanes Are Using The Michael Jordan Crying Meme

(CBS) Properly used, the Michael Jordan crying meme is nothing short of spectacular. Throwing Jordan and his tears on the goofy courtroom sketch of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady?

Awesome. That's multi-layered fun on various levels, with two Hall-of-Fame talents and two men in the GOAT conversation front and center.

But it's gone too far. This madness elsewhere has to stop. The Jordan crying meme is overused and on the verge of being cliche.

The latest evidence came after the Blackhawks lost 5-0 to the Hurricanes on Tuesday night.

While we're all for bantering and barbs between sports teams' social media accounts, this needs to be noted: Winners of three Stanley Cups in the past six years who are once again playing high-level hockey don't cry over regular-season losses. They're barely bothered. It's to the point that even the high-maintenance, overreacting fans don't get worked up when the Blackhawks lose.

So please, folks, let's scale back on the Jordan crying memes. He's the greatest basketball player ever and arguably a top-five athlete of all time.

When hockey teams in 10th place in their conference are using his crying meme, it's gone too far. Stop the insanity.
