Part Of 'Loop Link' Paint Job Fails, Contractor On The Hook For Replacement

(CBS) – The CTA spent millions to zip buses through the Loop, but the agency is in do-over mode already for a portion of its "Loop Link" project.

CBS 2's Jeremy Ross reports.

Most of the red bus lanes are fine and expected to remain that way.

But not far from Madison and Wacker, one area is an exception, and people are starting to take notice of small pieces of debris and fragments.

The transit project opened to travel late last month. The Chicago Department of Transportation says the coating failed not long after it was installed.

It was recently removed. The city called it unacceptable and instructed the contractor to fix it.

The repair is delayed by the winter weather, however.
