Two Arrested In Stolen Vehicle In Skokie

(STMW) -- Two men were arrested Tuesday after they were pulled over in a stolen vehicle in north suburban Skokie.

Patrick M. Allen, 32, of the 1300 block of Pine Valley Drive in Schaumburg has been charged with two felony counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, one felony count of burglary, one felony count of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of resisting/obstructing a peace officer, according to a statement from the Skokie Police Department.

The charges against Allen were secured in connection with a Dec. 29 burglary in the 4700 block of Howard Street in Skokie, police said.

Also, 27-year-old Eduars A. Jacquin, of the 7300 block of North Damen Avenue, faces five felony counts of forgery, one felony count of possession of a motor vehicle, and ons misdemeanor count each of criminal trespass to a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. He was charged in connection with "numerous forgeries."

Officers stopped Allen and Jacquin inside a vehicle Tuesday with an expired license plate in the 4800 block of Oakton Street, police said. The officers discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen and that Allen had an active arrest warrant for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

On Thursday, Allen was ordered held at the Cook County Jail on a $25,000 bond, according to the Cook County sheriff's office. Jacquin was ordered held on a $100,000 bond. They are both next scheduled to appear in court Feb. 17.
