President Obama Joins '96 Bulls/Current Warriors Debate With A Clever One-Liner

(CBS) Fresh off a win against the Wizards in Washington D.C. on Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors visited the White House on Thursday to be honored for their 2015 title.

They were greeted warmly by President Barack Obama, a big basketball fan who also made several references to the question that looms over this 2015-'16 season: Can these Warriors break the 1995-'96 Bulls' record of 72 wins in a single season? Golden State is currently 45-4, which puts it on track to go 75-7.

More specifically, Obama had jokes.

"It is rare to be in the presence of guys from the greatest team in NBA history," Obama said. "So we're pretty lucky today because we've got one of those players in the house — Steve Kerr, from the 1995-'96 Chicago Bulls."

Kerr, of course, coaches these Warriors. He's been asked time and again to compare the squad he played on with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen to the team he leads now, but he's never weighed in with a direct answer on who he think would win such a matchup.

Check out the video below.

Obama also gave Warriors assistant Luke Walton props for leading Golden State to a 39-4 mark as Kerr sat out the season's first half following complications from an offseason surgery. Obama drew laughs for that too.
