The Bernstein Brief: Watching Warriors Fans Watch Steph Curry

(CBS) I guess they are just used to it, the spectacular settling into the mundane, with jaw-drops now merely shrugs and nods.
This is all anecdotal observation, certainly, but from my spot at a packed sports bar in downtown San Francisco on Wednesday night, the response to Warriors star Steph Curry's 51-point outburst in a win at Washington was notable.
It was a young crowd, looking mostly post-work on a weeknight. Every TV on our level was tuned to the game, and people were attentive, responding to perceived bad calls and bounces as one would expect.
But there was little oohing and aahing over Curry's 11 three-pointers. He'd pull up, release it and it would go in, simply doing the regular business of Warriors basketball.
When it was over, he'd join Antawn Jamison, Rick Barry and Wilt Chamberlain as Warriors with multiple 50-point games in a season.
After a title and an MVP, this is apparently seen now as what he does and not cause for celebration.
