Prayer Service Held Outside Gage Park Home Where Six Family Members Found Murdered

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Hundreds of people gathered on the front lawn of a home in the Gage Park neighborhood where six members of the same family were found dead last Thursday.

David Moore, a pastor on the West Side, was among the mourners.

"I'm here because of the tragedy that took place among these family members and we're here as a community to show our love and our support," he said.

The bungalow is still surrounded by police crime scene tape. Six white crosses are on the front lawn, each cross bearing the name of one of the victims. The crosses are now buried under an avalanche of flowers, teddy bears, hats, and other mementoes. The display is surrounded by dozens of candles.

The Cook County Medical Examiner officially identified the victims as 58-year-old Rosaura Martinez, 62-year-old Noe Martinez Sr., 38-Year-old Noe Martinez Jr., 32-year-old Maria Herminia Martinez, 13-year-old Leonardo Cruz and 10-year-old Alexis Cruz.

Dawn Valenti of the group Chicago Survivors says the bodies of have been sent to Mexico for burial. There will be a memorial service in Chicago.
