Michael Jordan Reacts To Crying Jordan Meme

(CBS) The Crying Jordan meme has taken on a life of its own. Whenever the chance arises, social media is ready with Michael Jordan's crying face photoshopped onto the subject of misfortune.

Jordan, man of the meme, better known for his legendary basketball career (we think), is aware of this meme despite his lack of a social media presence. Jordan reacted to the meme through a spokesperson to the Chicago Tribune.

"I don't recall when we first started noticing it — everything explodes so quickly on the Internet, and suddenly it was everywhere," Jordan's spokesperson, Estee Portnoy, told the Tribune via email. "Everyone seems to be having fun with the meme, and it just keeps going. We haven't seen anyone using it to promote their commercial interests, which is something that we're monitoring.

"Lately we have had a lot of requests from media to comment or respond, but Michael is not on social media."

Crying Jordan stemmed from his emotional Hall of Fame speech in 2009, in which he shed tears while discussing his career. Years later, it became a viral sensation. Now, it's out of control. Set your watch to Crying Jordan showing up during any major sporting or news event.
