Blackhawks Send Rob Scuderi Down To Rockford

(CBS) The Blackhawks have assigned defenseman Rob Scuderi to AHL Rockford, opening up around $950,000 in cap space.

The 37-year-old Scuderi recorded zero points and had a minus-6 rating in 17 games for Chicago this season. He hadn't played in six of the past seven games.

Scuderi was acquired in a December trade with the Penguins that sent Trevor Daley to Pittsburgh.

The Blackhawks play the Rangers on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
