South Loop Nightclub Closing After Two Shot
(CBS) --The doors are now closed at a South Loop club after two people were shot early Saturday morning.
The Shrine was set to close its doors next weekend after seven years in business. But the club posted on Twitter saying it's decided to close early after a security guard and a woman were shot standing outside the club.
Police say a fight broke out around 2 a.m. inside the club near Wabash and 21st.
Security kicked out everyone involved but then a short time later one of the men came back in a car and started shooting.
A 29 year old woman was shot in the head and transported in critical condition. Also a 36-year-old security guard was hit in the leg and is listed in good condition.

"It was nice to have a club down here but thinking about all that shooting, it didn't have to go on," said Gloria Mooney.
The shrine posted on Twitter saying it's fully cooperating with police to ensure the person who did this is brought to justice. So far no one is in custody.
3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell's office released a statement saying that she, "the Chicago Police Department, the Department of Law and members of the community have been working together to revoke The Shrine's late night liquor license and to hold the club accountable for prior incidents in and around the establishment. Unfortunately, club management fought these actions in an effort to continue operating at the location."
