Man Charged With Promoting Prostitution After Sting By Cook County Sheriff's Office

(CBS) -- A West Side man has been arrested for promoting prostitution after an undercover sting by the Cook County Sheriff's office, reports WBBM's Mariam Sobh.

29-year-old Jamal Shells of the 2700 block of West Washington Blvd. has been charged with promoting prostitution and domestic battery.

This comes after the Cook County sheriff's office conducted an undercover sting. An officer made an arrangement through a website to meet a woman for sex at a Schiller Park hotel room in exchange for money.

Police soon discovered the 20-year-old woman was allegedly working for Shells. He was taken into custody shortly after the sting. He was found at a sandwich shop in the 4000 block of Mannheim Road.
