Snowfall Predictions For Latest Storm

CHICAGO (CBS) -- How much are we going to get?

Wednesday's snowstorm comes down to where you live.

The heaviest snow--more than a foot possible--will occur in a narrow swath of Northwest Indiana.

About 60 miles to the northwest, and folks will barely have to shovel their sidewalks.

Here is a look at the predicted snowfall, according to the National Weather Service:

12-18 inches, blizzard conditions: Porter County in Indiana, including towns like Chesterton, Valparaiso and Hebron. Areas to the east, like Michigan City and southwest Michigan will also be hit hard.

12-18 inches, blizzard conditions: Portion of Lake County in Indiana (south and east), including towns like Lowell, Cedar Lake and Lake of the Four Seasons. Winds up to 40 miles per hour.

8-12 inches, sporadic blizzard conditions: Portion of Lake County in Indiana, southeast Cook County in Illinois, including towns like Gary, Munster, Schererville, St. John and Hammond in Indiana. Lansing, Calumet City and the far Southeast Side of Chicago. Eastern portions of Will County.

6-8 inches: Portions of Chicago's South Side and southern suburbs, and west of Lansing (Homewood, South Holland, Markham). Western portions of Will County.

2-4 inches: Downtown Chicago and north and west sides of the city. North, northwest and western suburbs.

Areas in Lake County and McHenry County in Illinois may see 2 inches or even less.

The snow is expected to fall all day and into the evening, before tapering off on Thursday morning.
