Bears Re-Sign Cornerback Tracy Porter To 3-Year Deal

By Chris Emma--

(CBS) The Bears gave cornerback Tracy Porter a veteran's-minimum deal a year ago, and he earned his way back for more.

Porter, 29, has re-signed with Chicago, he confirmed on his Twitter account. The deal is for three years and $16.5 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Porter had 38 tackles, a team-high 22 pass breakups plus an interception and forced fumble in a bounce-back 2015 season after an injury-plagued 2014. The interception proved to be a heroic play in the Bears' win over the Packers on Thanksgiving in Green Bay. He was routinely Chicago's most consistent cornerback.

Chicago has also signed linebacker Danny Trevathan and tackle Bobby Massie off the free-agent marke while re-signing running back Jacquizz Rodgers and tackle Nick Becton.
