Bears Re-Sign RB Jacquizz Rodgers

By Chris Emma--

(CBS) The Bears' busy Wednesday continued with the re-signing of veteran running back Jacquizz Rodgers to a one-year deal.

Rodgers, 26, played five games with the Bears in 2015 before suffering a season-ending injury during a special teams play. He's considered an addition of depth to Chicago's backfield -- which already contains Jeremy Langford and Ka'Deem Carey -- and is a valued special teams player.

Rodgers had just 41 yards on 14 carries last season, his first with the Bears. His addition supplies another running back to a depth chart that's moving on without Matt Forte, who agreed to sign with the Jets on Wednesday.

The Bears also announced that they re-signed reserve tackle Nick Becton to a one-year deal.

Right at the start of the NFL's new year, the Bears made official their marquee signing of former Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan. The team has also agreed to sign tackle Bobby Massie, though that hasn't yet been made official.
