Source: Akiem Hicks, Jerrell Freeman To Visit Bears On Friday

By Chris Emma--

(CBS) The Bears have already brought in linebacker Danny Trevathan to bolster their defense, and they could add two more pieces to the mix.

Linebacker Jerrell Freeman and defensive end Akiem Hicks will visit the Bears on Friday, a source confirmed. Freeman, 29, has played four seasons with the Colts, and Hicks, 26, has played four seasons, the first three-plus with the Saints and then 13 games with the Patriots in 2015.

Freeman tallied 112 tackles in 13 games with the Colts last season, adding 3.5 sacks. As a rookie in 2012, he recorded 145 tackles.

Hicks had 21 tackles and three sacks for New England last season.

After being introduced with new tackle Bobby Massie on Thursday at Halas Hall, Trevathan spoke of his excitement to see more players added to the defense.

"We just need somebody else," Trevathan said. "I'm here, and I'm sure those other pieces are coming."
