Perhaps one of the top contests is the race to replace Democratic 8th District Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth, who's running for the U.S. Senate. Businessman Raja Krishnamoorthi, Villa Park Mayor Deb Bulwinkle and Elgin State Senator Michael Noland are vying for the Democratic nomination.

The Tenth District race pits Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering and former Congressman Brad Schneider in the Democratic battle for the death now held by Republican Bob Dold.
