Two Questioned By Police In Wake Of Fox Lake Lt. Joe Gliniewicz's Death File Lawsuit
(CBS) -- Two men who were questioned by police in the aftermath of the death of Fox Lake Police Lieutenant Joe Gliniewicz are filing a lawsuit, reports WBBM's Terry Keshner.
Preston Shrewsbury and Manuel Vargas were questioned for several days last September during a time when most people believed a cop killer was on the loose following the death of Fox Lake Police Lieutenant Joe Gliniewicz.

Greg Kulis, the attorney for Shrewsbury and Vargas, said there were, "No facts to support probable cause to stop these people, investigate, these people."
The investigation later revealed that Gliniewicz's death was a suicide and he was stealing money from a youth police program that he ran.
The lawsuit names Fox Lake, Libertyville and others.
"All the evidence showed that he took his own life and there was no evidence that Mr. Shrewsbury or Mr. Vargas had anything to do with this," Kulis said.
The Village of Fox Lake responded in a statement saying, "The Village of Fox Lake has not been formally served with the lawsuit and has not had an opportunity to review details of the complaint. The Village will determine a proper course of action after it has thoroughly reviewed the complaint. Therefore, the Village will reserve any comment until it gains a better understanding of the lawsuit and its specific allegations."
