Family Of Missing Woman Jessica Suarez Renews Search

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The family of missing woman is demanding Chicago Police step up their efforts to find her.

21-year old Jessica Suarez disappeared just over five weeks ago. She was last seen running along Lake Shore Drive February 5.

Visibly, upset family and friends returned there today to search and raise awareness.

The family says investigators have implied that Suarez may have fallen into the lake but never launched a water search.

Dozens of people posted up signs, hoping someone will recognize Suarez and reveal her whereabouts.

Sunday, Ophelia Suarez spoke directly to her sister.

"I want my sister Jessica to be back and Jessica if you are watching this because I know Jessica you are alive," she said. "I know people have different stories that maybe she fell in the water. I can feel it in my heart that she's not in the water. I know she's alive."

Chicago Police contend they are following leads and actively investigating the Suarez disappearance.
