Three Girls Arrested After Brawl Erupts At Evanston Township High School

(CBS) -- Three female students were arrested at Evanston Township High School after a fight broke out Monday morning.

The fight actually involved about half a dozen girls, police say.

But only three were arrested and charged after a fight in the hallway.

"All three were charged with disorderly conduct, and one of the juvenile females was also charged with resisting arrest," Evanston Police Cmdr. Joe Dugan tells WBBM.

The girl charged with resisting arrest also had a stun gun in her purse, although she did not use it during the disturbance, Dugan says.

He says one student was treated for complications from asthma, but there weren't any injuries directly associated with the fight.

As for what caused it, Dugan says it happened in the morning of the first day back from break. The underlying cause had apparently been simmering until the girls saw each other again on campus.

He says the girls involved in the fight were all 15 or 16.
