Man Pleads Guilty To Robbing Glenview Bank, 4 Others Nationwide
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Texas man admitted to holding up a bank in north suburban Glenview last summer during a nationwide bank robbery spree, according to federal prosecutors.
Houston resident Nader Jaser Abdullah, 53, pleaded guilty March 24 to five robberies in five states, according to the U.S. Attorney's office in the Eastern District of Missouri.
Abdullah walked into the Devon Bank branch at 950 Milwaukee Ave. in Glenview about 12:45 p.m. on July 1, 2015 and made off with an unspecified amount of cash, according to the FBI.
He went on to rob banks in Las Vegas on July 6, St. Louis on July 14 and Hendersonville, North Carolina on July 17, prosecutors claim. Abdullah also is accused of a robbery in Phoenix, but it wasn't immediately clear when that happened. He was arrested in Wisconsin.
Abdullah faces up to 20 years in prison with fines of up to $250,000. He is scheduled for sentencing June 23.
