After Nixing Street Closures, Emanuel Agrees To Compromise Plan For Wrigley Field Security
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Mayor Rahm Emanuel acknowledges that he's agreeing to a compromise plan for increasing security around Wrigley Field, reports WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore.
When North Side Congressman Mike Quigley joined those suggesting shutting down streets around Wrigley Field on Cubs game days, Mayor Emanuel called the proposal a "swing and a miss."

But now Emanuel's about talking about widening the sidewalks along Addison Street and having concrete barriers.
"One of the things as you probably know that we're going to explore, not just explore but pursue, is putting bollards around at certain key points because that's something in today's day in age you need for security," Emanuel said. "It would be a complement. I think that gets the same goal without having to close Clark and Addison which has its own complexity."
The mayor says there have been several meetings among his office, Cubs officials, Quigley's office and others to craft security plans.
