Prosecutors: Rape Streamed Live Online
(CBS) -- An Ohio man is accused of raping a teenage girl, while another woman allegedly broadcast the attack live online, using the Periscope mobile streaming app.
Raymond B. Gates, 29, and Marina A. Lonina, 18 were indicted on Wednesday on multiple counts, including rape, the Columbus Dispatch reports.
The rape occurred on Feb. 27 at a home where Gates, Lonina and the 17-year-old victim were drinking.
The victim's ability "to resist or consent was substantially impaired," according to the indictment.
One of Lonina's friends in another state saw the video and contacted authorities, the paper reported.
Lonia's lawyer, Josh Bedtelyon, told the AP that his client "categorically" denies the charges.
