Durkin: 2016 Mock NFL Draft 2.0

By Dan Durkin--

(CBS) The spectacle that has become the NFL Draft has never lacked for creating intrigue and building anticipation.

Just last Wednesday, the newly located Los Angeles Rams pushed nearly all their chips in to get to the top of the draft board for the opportunity to draft their perceived franchise quarterback. Their trading partner, the Tennessee Titans, got a massive haul in return and now have six selections in the top 76. The reverberations from that trade were felt league wide.

With less than two weeks until the Rams are on the clock, here's my second attempt to project intersection points between team needs and the best available prospects in the first round.

Obviously, there will be trades on draft night. However, there are none in this particular first-round projection. Let's take a look at mock draft 2.0.
