Cubs Fan Who Joined Jake Arrieta No-Hit Celebration Arrested

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Cubs fan who joined the team's on-field celebration after Jake Arrieta's no-hitter now finds himself in a bit of trouble with the law.

Dylan Cressy, 22, was charged with criminal trespass after he ran out onto the field "without permission" after Thursday night's win against the Reds, according to a Cincinnati police report.

Cressy, a student at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., got right into the middle of the celebration, and even patted Arrieta on the head.

CBS 2 spoke with Cressy's father, Michael, who wasn't too upset about the incident.

"All the Cubs fans were egging him on so he did it," he said. "He's that kind of kid. He's a little crazy. He's a good kid though."

Michael Cressy said he got a call from the jail last night.

"I was kind of tired. I was like, 'Oh no. what could Dylan have possibly done to go to jail?'

"I'm a little surprised he got away with it, but knowing Dylan and his free spirit, I'm not too surprised that he did it."

On Friday, Cressy was found guilty of criminal trespass and was sentenced to one day in jail (which he served last night). He was also ordered to stay away from Great American Ballpark.
