Police Probe Possible Theft From Evanston HS Lockers, By School Staff

EVANSTON (CBS) -- A day after a gun was found in the backpack of a student at Evanston Township High School, police say they're investigating an apparent theft from a student's locker--by school staff.

A still photo is on the Facebook pages of some students at Evanston Township High School.

It appears to show a man looking into a student's locker, a frame grab from a video shot by a cell phone left inside the locker.

And the school has posted a note on its website referring to the "video implicating ... staff members" at the school.

"It looked like it was a video shot from inside a locker," said Evanston Police Commander Joe Dugan. "And you can see an individual open the locker and go through some of the contents in the locker."

Dugan says the video seems authentic.

And he's asking any students to come forward if they've been victims of thefts from their lockers.

Students at Evanston Township High School started the day with a demonstration, calling for action to stop the thefts.
