White Sox Lose 2nd Straight To Orioles

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Nolan Reimold hit a tiebreaking three-run homer in the seventh inning, leading the Baltimore Orioles to a 6-3 victory over Chicago White Sox on Friday night.

The White Sox entered this series riding a six-game winning streak but have lost back-to-back games to the Orioles, whose 9-1 mark at Camden Yards is the best home mark in the major leagues.

Brett Lawrie snapped a 2-for-18 skid and tied the score 3-3 with a solo homer off the Orioles' Brad Brach in the seventh. Reimold then put the Orioles back in the lead when he hit Carlos Rodon's first pitch over the right-field scoreboard in the bottom of the inning.

Brach (3-0) earned the win in relief of Mike Wright. Zach Britton pitched a perfect ninth to earn his sixth save.

Rodon (1-3) gave up six runs and eight hits in seven innings with seven strikeouts.

The White Sox took a 1-0 lead in the second on a two-out triple by Avisail Garcia. Rodon retired 11 in a row with five strikeouts before allowing a two-out single to Chris Davis.

However, a pair of errors helped the Orioles take a 3-1 lead in the fifth.

Lawrie couldn't handle a sharp grounder by Matt Wieters before a dribbler by Reimold loaded the bases. Jonathan Schoop followed with a two-RBI single to center. Shortstop Jimmy Rollins then lost his footing on a potential double play, airing his throw to first that allowed Reimold to score.

After an RBI single by Jose Abreu pulled the White Sox within a run, Adam Jones preserved the lead by throwing out Rollins, who tried to tag up from third.

TRAINER'S ROOM

White Sox: RHP Daniel Webb was placed on the 15-day DL prior to Friday's game with right elbow flexor inflammation. Chicago recalled RHP Tommy Kahnle from Triple-A Charlotte to take Webb's spot in the bullpen. Kahnle pitched a scoreless eighth inning.

Orioles: OF Jimmy Paredes (left wrist sprain) was back in the lineup and playing right field for Double-A Bowie on Friday night. Paredes' 20-day rehab assignment ends May 15.

UP NEXT

White Sox: RHP Mat Latos (4-0) is off to his best start since 2013 and has an ERA of 0.74 over 24 1/3 innings.

Orioles: RHP Kevin Gausman (1-0) will make his second start after opening the season on the DL with a right shoulder strain.
