Cubs, White Sox Forecast For Success This Week

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Chicago Cubs, with their wacky suits and all, face an early season test this week against two of the best teams in the National League, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Nationals.

And the North Siders are forecast to go 6-1 during that stretch, according to Five Thirty Eight, which uses a ranking system called Elo to predict a team's chances of winning.

The Cubs have the highest Elo rating in MLB right now and have a 92 percent chance of making the playoffs, also the best in baseball.

The Chicago White Sox, facing the Boston Red Sox and then the Minnesota Twins, are also forecast for success this week, favored to win five of six.

The South Siders have a 66 percent chance of making the post season, rating fourth-best in the MLB.
