Spotty Showers And Storms Through Midweek

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago will see showers and storms on and off through the middle of the week, but the end of the week should be sunny and mild.

While there is a marginal to slight risk of severe weather far south and west of the Chicago area, the most that should be seen in our neck of the woods is showers and possible storms starting in the back half of Monday.

There were some showers south of the city early Monday morning, and showers should fire up again starting in the afternoon.

Temperatures on Monday will be cooler than normal this time of year, struggling to reach 60 in some spots.

Showers and possible heavier downpours were expected to continue on and off through Tuesday evening. Temperatures should reach a high of around 72 on Tuesday.

There will be a chance of some rain activity on Wednesday, but the day should be mostly dry, with highs in the upper 70s, and by Thursday, skies will be mostly clear, but temperatures will begin cooling off, with a high around 70 on Thursday, in the low 60s on Friday, and in the upper 50s to low 60s on Saturday and Sunday.
