CHICAGO (CBS) -- Here are some numbers in the news, with a Chicago connection--1,003, 150 and 6,742,903,064.24.

Averaging an MLB-best 6.19 runs per game, the Cubs are on pace to score 1,003 runs this season, writes Bruce Levine. The modern National league record for runs is 1,004 by the 1930 St. Louis Cardinals.

The State Of Illinois currently has not paid $6.7 billion in bills. Or, $6,742,903,064.24 to be exact as of Tuesday. The Illinois Comptroller updates the number daily.

Other number: In less than a week, the backlog of bills increased by more than $500 million.

Other numbers: The last time the state took in more money than it spent was 2001, when it reported a $300 million surplus.

The state's deficit has been improving since it peaked at $6 billion in 2010. This year, the state's deficit in the general fund is $3 billion.

The top ticket ($150) for Bruce Springsteen's Aug. 28 show at the United Center. It's part of The River Tour. Tickets go on sale May 14. The E Street Band was here back in January, when it played 'The River' album as part of a 33 song set.
