White Sox 3B Todd Frazier Suffers Lip Laceration After Crashing Into Stands

(CBS) White Sox third baseman Todd Frazier left in the fourth inning of Wednesday's game game against the Rangers with a lower lip laceration after he dove into the stands while trying to catch a foul ball. Frazier immediately put his glove over his face and rushed back to the White Sox dugout to fetch a towel.

Frazier needed five stitches and is listed as day to day, the team said. After the White Sox fell 6-5, manager Robin Ventura indicated that Frazier should be fine to play Friday at the Yankees. The White Sox have Thursday off.

Replays appeared to show that Frazier hit a seat.

Carlos Sanchez replaced Frazier at third base.
