Police Warn Of Robberies Near Red Line Stations In Rogers Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning CTA Red Line riders in Rogers Park about three robberies last week in the North Side neighborhood.

In each robbery, the victim was walking from either the Morse or Loyola Red Line stations when they were approached by multiple people who hit them and took their property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. The robbers took money, wallets, a back pack, work uniforms and a cell phone.

The most recent robbery happened at 7 a.m. Friday in the 7000 block of North Sheridan. The suspects were described as a black man, 35-40, wearing a black hoodie, white t-shirt, blue jeans and black gym shoes; and a black woman, 25-30, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, police said.

In the robbery that happened between 2-3 a.m. May 10 in the 1400 block of West Lunt, the robbers were described as five black men, 21-29 years old, police said. The first robbery happened at 8:20 p.m. May 7 in the 6900 block of North Glenwood, and the robbers were described as four black males.
