Three Charged With Armed Robbery In West Town
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Bail was set Wednesday for three men charged with an armed robbery early Tuesday in the West Town neighborhood.
Markis Hubbs, 24; Kenyon Armstrong, 18; and Marquise Key, 19, have all been charged with one count of armed robbery and two counts of attempted armed robbery, both felonies, according to a statement from Chicago Police. They all also face one misdemeanor count of unlawful use of a weapon.
About 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, one of the men pointed a handgun at victims in the 2000 block of West Huron and demanded the victims' property, police said.
The trio sped away from the scene in a beige SUV and, a short time later, officers on patrol spotted the vehicle double parked in the 4300 block of South Michigan, police said. The officers, who had been provided with descriptions of the SUV and suspects, investigated and found the men in possession of a handgun and the victims' property.
All three men were also positively identified by the victims, police said.
Hubbs, of the 16000 block of of Dobson Avenue in South Holland, was ordered held on a $100,000 bail, which was set at $500,000 for Armstrong, who lives in the 400 block of East 133rd Street; and at $400,000 for Key, who lives in the 13100 block of South Eberhart Avenue, according to the Cook County sheriff's office.
The three were next scheduled to appear in court June 7.
