CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police have warned people living in the Humboldt Park neighborhood about two recent robberies targeting women walking alone.

Both women were robbed Saturday; the first robbery happened on the 1400 block of North Pulaski Road around 7 a.m., and the second happened on the 3800 block of West Grand Avenue around 10:30 a.m., according to a community alert.

In both robberies, a man wearing a White Sox cap approached a woman from behind as she was walking alone, grabbed her, placed a hard object in her back, and demanded her property.

Police said the robber was described as a black man between 35 and 40 years old, from 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, and weighing 200 to 220 pounds. He has short black hair, and was wearing a white T-shirt, jeans, and a White Sox hat.
