Students Cut Class To Protest School-Funding Crisis

Chicago Public Schools students took to the streets downtown  Friday  to protest the continuing school-funding crisis.

Chanting "Save Our Schools" and carrying signs, they blocked entrances to the James R. Thompson Center to send a message to Gov. Bruce Rauner.

The students put the call out for protestors on Facebook, leading a couple of hundred students to cut class and head downtown.

The demonstrators also marched around Chicago City Hall, saying Mayor Emanuel is more concerned about tourism than helping fight for funding for CPS.
