Chicago Elementary School Locked Down After Worker Made Threat: Police

(STMW) -- An elementary school on the Northwest Side was put on lockdown Monday afternoon after a temporary custodial employee threatened to bring a gun to school and open fire, Chicago Police said.

Officers responded at 3:40 p.m. to Ebinger Elementary at 7350 W. Pratt Ave., where two employees got into a fight and one threatened to come back with a gun and "shoot the school up," police News Affairs Officer Michelle Tannehill said.

Faculty and students were escorted out of the building. No one was hurt, police said, and no one was in custody as of late Monday afternoon.

Chicago Public Schools officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
