Blackhawks Open Home Slate With Oct. 12 Contest Against Blues

(CBS) The Blackhawks will start their home slate in the 2016-'17 regular season against the foe that vanquished them in 2015-'16.

Chicago will host the rival St. Louis Blues on Oct. 12 at the United Center, the team announced Monday. The game time hasn't been announced yet.

The Blues beat the Blackhawks in seven games in the first round this past April, ending Chicago's hope of repeating as Stanley Cup champions.

The full 2016-'17 schedule will be released Tuesday at noon.
