Report: White Sox Sign No. 10 Overall Pick Zack Collins
(CBS) The White Sox have signed No. 10 overall pick Zack Collins, MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo reported Tuesday.
A catcher at Miami who could possibly be moved to a different position down the road, Collins signed for $3,380,600, which is the slot value of the No. 10 slot. Collins hit .363 with 16 homers and 59 RBIs in 62 games for the Hurricanes, who were eliminated from the College World Series on Monday.
Last week, Chicago had signed its other first-round pick, right-hander Zack Burdi out of Louisville. He was selected at No. 26 overall.
The White Sox have now signed the top 10 picks from the amateur draft.
