White Sox Claim RHP Juan Minaya From Astros

(CBS) The White Sox have claimed right-hander Juan Minaya off waivers from the Astros.

The 25-year-old Minaya had a 3.91 ERA in 17 relief appearances at Triple-A Fresno this season. He was then designated for assignment Monday. He'll report to Triple-A Charlotte for the White Sox.

A Dominican Republic native, Minaya was signed by Houston as a non-draft free agent in September 2008 when he was 17.
