E'Twaun Moore Signs 4-Year Deal With Pelicans

By Cody Westerlund--

(CBS) E'Twaun Moore has cashed in after making the most of his opportunity last season, but he won't be returning to Chicago.

The New Orleans Pelicans have signed Moore to a four-year deal, his agency confirmed Friday evening. The deal is worth $34 million, according to reports. The Bulls had been interested in re-signing Moore, whom general manager Gar Forman on Monday said "we think very highly of."

Moore averaged 7.5 points and 1.7 assists in 59 games last season. While the Bulls had some inner turmoil and didn't fully embrace rookie coach Fred Hoiberg's system, the low-maintenance, quiet Moore had a mutual respect with Hoiberg and was appreciative of his opportunity for a larger role as the season wore on. He started a career-high 22 games and averaged 21.4 minutes per game, serving as an effective spot-up shooter. He shot 48 percent from the field and 45 percent on 3-pointers.

The Bulls' attention now turns elsewhere. They had a meeting with point guard Rajon Rondo on Friday, according to reports. They're also pursuing shooting guard Dwyane Wade, according to The Vertical.
