Teen Charged In Carjacking On South Side

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A teenager has been charged in connection with a carjacking earlier this week, which started a crime spree that ended with the death of a store clerk in Summit.

Marvelo Wilson, 15, was identified as the person who shot a 27-year-old male victim in the leg, during the course of a robbery at a gas station in the 8900 block of South Chicago Avenue on Wednesday morning.

The offender then fled in the victim's vehicle.

Wilson was charged with one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking.

The car taken in that incident has also been connected with three other shootings and two more robberies on Wednesday.

According to police, two suspects robbed two different gas station in Summit.

In the second robbery, a store clerk was fatally shot.

Nobody has been charged in those robberies or with the clerk's death.

The victim in the carjacking was treated at the hospital for a broken femur.
