Bulls, Isaiah Canaan Agree To 2-Year Deal

(CBS) The Bulls and guard Isaiah Canaan have reached an agreement on a two-year deal, according to Canaan's agency, Priority Sports. The deal is worth $2.2 million total and includes a second-year team option, according to the Tribune.

The 25-year-old Canaan has spent three years in the NBA, the last year-and-a-half with the 76ers. He averaged 11.0 points and 1.8 assists last season in 25.5 minutes per game, playing in 77 games, starting 39 times.

Canaan attempted the 11th-most 3-pointers in the league last season (485), hitting at a 36.3 percent clip. The Bulls had set their sights on adding more shooting after the recent acquisitions of point guard Rajon Rondo and shooting guard Dwyane Wade, two players who are below-average outside shooters. Canaan is a career 36.3 percent 3-point shooter.

Canaan will likely contribute as part of Chicago's second unit.

Canaan was a second-round pick of the Rockets in 2013. He played sparingly for the first two years of his career before taking on a bigger role in Philadelphia last season.
