One of the most common questions we are asked during an initial free consultation is, "How much is my personal injury case worth?"
It is difficult to answer such a question armed only with limited information from a one-hour consultation.
To determine the value of a personal injury case, an attorney must evaluate the compensation that a jury might award for: pain and suffering, loss of a normal life, past and future medical bills, lost wages and pension, disfigurement, and if the client contributed to the negligence.
As you can probably see, these factors are going to be different for each and every case. Our attorneys fully explain each factor to our clients, so that they can make an informed decision about what amount they would be willing to settle for.
On top of these factors, if the case goes to trial – careful jury selection will play an integral role in the value of the case. A jury that is prejudiced against lawsuits will likely reduce the value of the case unfairly.
Our fee is the only factor generally constant. We charge what is known as a contingency fee. Our fee is 1/3 of the compensation recovered and expenses. We forward all of the costs for litigating the case AND there is no recovery by our firm, unless we win.
