White Sox Place 2B Brett Lawrie On DL
(CBS) The White Sox have placed second baseman Brett Lawrie on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring, they announced Wednesday. The move is retroactive to last Friday, a day after Lawrie left the game during a loss to the Tigers.
Lawrie is hitting .248 with 12 homers and 36 RBIs in 94 games this season.
In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled infielder Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte, where he's hitting .255 with eight homers and 29 RBIs in 61 games. Sanchez has hit .143 (5-of-35) across three shorter stints with the White Sox this season.
