Bears' Kyle Long Suffers Calf Injury

By Chris Emma--

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. (CBS) -- The injury bug bit the Bears on their first day of training camp.

Three-time Pro Bowl guard Kyle Long suffered a left calf injury during Thursday during the first practice of the season. He walked into the Olivet Nazarene cafeteria with a walking boot on his left leg.

It's believed to be a calf strain, Ian Raporport of the NFL Network reported. The Bears haven't updated the extent of the injury.

Rookie linebacker Leonard Floyd left practice during stretches with an illness, with team trainers removing him despite his plea to stay. Floyd is expected to return Friday for the Bears' second practice.

"I'm feeling good right now," Floyd said after practice. "What happened today was I had been under the weather the past couple days, and the trainers knew that. They told me to go out and give it a shot today, then they shut me down."

Additionally, rookie linebacker Roy Robertson-Harris was dealing with an injury, and tight end Khari Lee suffered a shoulder injury.

The Bears had 87 of the 90 on their roster for the start of camp, with Pernell McPhee, Marquess Wilson and Amini Silatolu -- all of whom are on the PUP list -- not present.

Friday marks the Bears' second practice at Olivet Nazarene.
