Police Warn Of Pair Robbing People At Gunpoint On CTA Trains

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police were warning commuters to be on alert, following a string of armed robberies on the CTA.

Police released surveillance images of two men who have robbed CTA passengers at gunpoint, either on trains or at stations.

The suspects also have been known to use pepper spray on their victims.

The first robbery happened around 4 a.m. on June 25 at the 69th Street station on the Red Line in Englewood.

The pair next struck around 5 p.m. Sunday at the Fullerton station on the Red and Brown lines in Lincoln Park.

Most recently, they robbed someone at the Kimball station on the Brown Line in Albany Park.

In each robbery, the robbers displayed a handgun, stole the victim's property, and either got off the train at the next stop, or jumped a turnstile at the station, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects, or has any information on the robberies should call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
