Bears' Cornerback Kyle Fuller To Skip New England Trip, Rest Knee 'Soreness'

(CBS) Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller won't travel with the team to New England this week, instead staying behind to be evaluated for a knee ailment.

"He's been fighting through some knee soreness," Bears coach John Fox told reporters Sunday at Halas Hall.

A third-year player and 2014 first-round pick, Fuller has missed some time in training camp but not an extended period.

Fuller did play the Bears' preseason opener Thursday. Nickel corner Bryce Callahan got the start for Tracy Porter during that game. Callahan will likely start in place of Fuller during the Bears' practices and game with the Patriots.

"You're concerned about anybody that's injured," Fox said. "It's something he was fighting through during the offseason, he's fought through in camp."

The Bears were traveling later Sunday to New England and begin practices with the Patriots on Monday. The two teams play their second preseason game on Thursday at Gillette Stadium.
