Offers Pour In To Pay For Wheaton Newborn's Burial

(CBS) -- Offers are being made to handle the burial costs for a newborn girl found dead near Wheaton this week.

DuPage County coroner Richard Jorgensen says several individuals and at least one group have come forward to offer to pay for the proper burial.

The baby has been named Hope, because officials continue to have hope that they will find the newborn's family.

Jorgensen tells the Daily Herald that he is moved by love and caring for the baby, but said no burial will take place until efforts to find the family are exhausted.

It is unknown how long that might take.

A landscaping crew found the baby along Plamondon Road near the Chicago Golf Club.
