Chicago Cubs' Current Chances Of Winning World Series

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Following the release of Major League Baseball's playoff schedule, even the most cautious Cubs fan is circling all of those dates in October, including those late in the month.

You know, for the first pitch in the World Series.

And for good reason, as the Cubs are a lock to win their division and are the odds-on favorite to not just get to the Fall Classic but win the whole thing.

The data experts at FiveThirtyEight are giving the North Siders a 21 percent chance of raising the Commissioner's Trophy.

That's well ahead of any other team in baseball.

Rounding out the top five:

Red Sox: 12 percent
Blue Jays: 11 percent
Indians: 10 percent
Dodgers, Nationals: 9 percent
